USA HQ Multi-language website launched (www.tdisdi.com)
If you have ever wondered how a Portuguese diver says: “Let’s go diving!”* SDI and TDI’s new website may be able to provide the answer. The most innovative sport and technical diver certification agencies in the industry announced today the launch of its brand new website in eleven translated languages!
“It’s really a function of the changing complexion of the average SDI, TDI diver and where they dive,” explained Brian Carney. “When our organization first opened its doors, the vast majority of our day-to-day operations were focused on the North American diver and dive shops in the US and Canada,” the president of SDI, TDI and ERDI said. “Over the course of the past 16 years, and most dramatically in the last four years, that focus has changed. SDI and TDI have always had a presence globally, but the bulk of our professional membership (instructors and dive operators) used to be US based. These days that is no longer the situation and it would now be accurate to say we are a multi-national organization with a head office in States but a membership that is spread around the world.”
The new multi-lingual websites (available through www.tdisdi.com) feature all the functions that English Language speakers have enjoyed for years. These include, instructor lookup, verification of certification, links to diving articles, course outlines, and online diver registrations for SDI, TDI and the organization’s Public Safety Diving agency, ERDI.
Foreign Language versions of the site can be accessed via a drop-down menu visible on the upper right quadrant of the home screen. There is also a feedback function to report glitches or errors.
Carney added that the 11 languages include: Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, German, Italian, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. “One goal of the investment we are making in the new web presence is to offer total support to our regional offices in 25 countries. Through them and through this new website we can continue to deliver the best and most timely service, information and educational services to the dive community everywhere.”
